Who is Ozroofracks

Welcome, and a huge thank you for your interest in my products. My name is Pedro Martin and I am the owner of Ozroofracks.

Living on the Central Coast NSW, when I imported my Toyota HiAce Grand Cabin G 4WD 1KZ 3.0 Turbo Diesel 5 Speed 1997/09 (KD-KZH126G) I struggled to find a high roof bracket to fit a roof rack. So I decided to research, and then manufacture, the product you are probably after right now: a roof bracket for high roof vans and buses.

This dream started in February 2023. The first batch was gone after a month on the market and I have been producing non-stop ever since - who would have thought! They are selling in Australia, Japan, New Zealand and beyond, and all the stock is held in Australia.

Since the product reached the market a number of businesses, companies and individuals have been imitating not just the business idea but every single product I design and launch, so do not get fooled: all my products are genuine, engineered, tested, certified, load rated and insured.

No worries at all. I am quite happy watching how well known manufacturers follow my ideas, updating and renovating their designs to reinforce their products or add the multifunctional slots they did not use to have. Some companies even use my photos or concepts. Design is a thing, and Ozroofracks makes the difference.

I am an Australian citizen trading under my own ABN, and I have been dealing with suppliers in other countries for a fair while.

A bit more about me.

I have dedicated 30 years of my life to the martial arts. I am known as "Formado Comprido" and I am the founder and capoeira teacher of our Australian not-for-profit Grupo Capoeiras Incorporated, a provider for the Active Kids and Creative Kids NSW Government programs.

In 2003, more than twenty years ago now, I wrote the first capoeira book published in Spain. Kerbsides, "Sharing is caring", is more of a passion than a project: I built the platform a couple of years ago and it is still an ongoing idea, always open to improvement.

What to expect from our products and website

Our goal is to always improve: continuous improvement is key to success in any endeavour, and it is customer feedback that helps us grow.

I started this adventure at my own risk, with the idea of keeping my products apart from other companies because nobody was designing specifically for high roof gutter vehicles. In the short time since they reached the market, more than four companies are manufacturing something similar.

Where our products are made

Like most Australian companies in the roof rack sector, Ozroofracks manufactures in China. There are a couple of good reasons for that.

No local quote

No Australian company was willing to provide a quote to bring the fabrication here - my production quantities appear to be too small.

Competing on the market

To be able to compete I have to produce overseas. Manufacturing costs in Australia for my products are, sadly, wild.

While some well known Australian companies claim "manufacturing in Australia", the detail of which components are made in-house and which are imported is not clearly published. "Made in Australia" only means a product has undergone a substantial transformation in Australia, or that 50% of the cost of production must have been incurred in Australia. I invite you to do a quick research on any company: Taiwan, Thailand, South Africa and the Middle East are common countries where part of the production originates. Ozroofracks could state "Made in Australia", but in order to avoid misleading advertising I prefer not to make that statement.

Ozroofracks design #202313123 and trade mark #2349058 are registered under my own name through IP Australia, which administers the intellectual property rights and legislation for trade marks, patents, design rights and plant breeder's rights in Australia. My products are manufactured following the Australian Consumer Law (ACL) guidance on the consumer guarantee as to acceptable quality, durability and safety, and in compliance with the Standard ISO 11154:2023.

Ozroofracks products are manufactured by suppliers operating under quality and product-testing processes that include compliance with ISO 11154:2023, where applicable. Ozroofracks also conducts product-specific engineering and static load testing on selected roof load carrier systems to assess structural strength and load capacity. Product load ratings are specific to the individual product, vehicle, mounting configuration and installation conditions and must not be exceeded.

My businesses act according to the Spam Act 2003 and the Scam Code Act (C661:2022, Reducing Scam Calls and Scam SMs) introduced by the Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA). I trade according to the law and follow the Australian eCommerce Guidelines, the auDA .au Eligibility and Allocation Policy, the Business Names Act 2011, ASIC recommendations and NSW Fair Trading standards, and the programming ethical guidelines established by the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM), the world's largest educational and scientific computing society.
