Your Setup Assessment

We appreciate customers for providing the details of any proposed installation.

Information on the website about setup assessment/s is not an engineering certification.

Our brackets can be used to distribute the load of a variety of compatible commercial bars, cages, extrusions, frames, roof racks and platforms along suitable vehicle rain gutters. They're also designed for a range of vehicles with low-gutter/high-gutter/without gutter often high-roof vehicles.

However, an individual bracket test result cannot be used to establish the safe total roof load of a complete installation. The limiting factor will always be the lowest-rated component of the system. This may include:

- The vehicle manufacturer’s roof or gutter load rating
- The condition of the gutters and roof structure
- The platform or crossbars
- Fasteners and mounting hardware
- Bracket quantity, position and spacing
- Load distribution
- Installation quality
- Intended driving and operating conditions

## Dynamic load assessment

Ozroofracks cannot nominate or certify a total dynamic load for a particular vehicle without a vehicle-specific load rating and an assessment of the complete installation.

The total load must remain within the lowest applicable rating for any component in the system—particularly the vehicle manufacturer’s dynamic roof or gutter-load limit for the exact model and roof configuration.

## Important considerations

- The total roof load includes the brackets, platform/bars, decking, awnings, solar panels, mounting hardware, accessories and any cargo.
- Each bracket weighs sums so for example, a setup with eight OZ41 brackets weigh approximately 13.2 kg in total.
- The load must be evenly distributed and securely restrained.
- Brackets must be correctly spaced and fitted to gutters that are undamaged and structurally sound.
- Our steel brackets range are suitable for light off-road use. Rougher conditions can generate substantially higher dynamic forces and may require a reduced load.
- Vehicle compatibility can vary according to the exact model, year, body style, roof profile, gutter construction, existing modifications and installation method.
- A stronger bracket model should not be fitted to an unsuitable vehicle simply to increase load capacity, as this may introduce additional structural and installation risks that require separate assessment.
- Japanese imports and vehicles near the boundary of a published compatibility range often require additional fitment verification in situ.

## What you need to confirm

Please obtain the applicable roof or gutter load rating from the vehicle manufacturer or the vehicle’s original documentation.

If a manufacturer rating is unavailable, the complete system should be assessed by a suitably qualified automotive or structural engineer before installation or use.

Ozroofracks cannot confirm that a proposed load is an approved total dynamic load or provide a separate vehicle-specific maximum where this information has not been established by the vehicle manufacturer or a qualified engineer.

## What Ozroofracks can assess

If you provide the following information, we can help assess physical product compatibility:

- Vehicle make, model and year
- Chassis or model code
- Clear photographs of both gutters and the roof profile
- Platform or crossbar details
- Proposed number and spacing of brackets
- Details of any awnings, solar panels or other permanently mounted accessories

This assessment can help confirm the physical compatibility of our brackets with the proposed setup.

It does not replace the vehicle manufacturer’s load limit, installation requirements or professional engineering approval.

## Ozroofracks Liability

For liability reasons, any information or communication provided by Ozroofracks is general guidance only and must not be considered engineering, structural, vehicle or installation advice. Always consult the vehicle manufacturer or a suitably qualified automotive or structural engineer to confirm the safety and suitability of your complete setup before installation or use.

Ozroofracks is a retailer and supplier of roof-rack and vehicle-accessory products. We are not acting as an engineer, vehicle manufacturer, certifier or other qualified professional when reviewing your proposed setup.

Any comments, observations or suggestions provided through our assessment tool or private communication (sms, email, messenger, whatsapp) are general information only, based on the photographs, measurements and information you provide and our practical experience with roof-rack products.

We cannot certify or guarantee the structural capacity of your vehicle, roof, gutters, mounting points, rack, awning or other accessories, or confirm that a particular setup complies with all applicable vehicle, road or engineering requirements.

Where suitability depends on matters such as vehicle load limits, structural strength, dynamic or static loads, leverage/bending forces, modifications, mounting-point condition or regulatory compliance, you should verify these matters with the vehicle or accessory manufacturer and, where appropriate, a suitably qualified automotive engineer or other competent professional before installation or use.

Our assessment does not replace manufacturer specifications, professional engineering advice or installation instructions.
