Australia Post monthly fuel surcharge: 6.9% in September, 11.5% in October, 13.5% in November 2026

Australia Post publishes its contract fuel surcharge 30 days in advance, based on an estimate of its direct and indirect fuel costs using forward-looking fuel prices. The rates on its fuel surcharge page, as read on 3 October 2026, are 6.9% for September, 11.5% for October and 13.5% for November 2026.

For comparison, the rate was 4.8% in the first half of April and peaked at 19.5% in June 2026. The surcharge applies to contract customers; retail prices are separate.
