Information
These are gutter mounted brackets with 15CM gutter to bracket top height for general purposes like fitting lightweight accesories: awnings, antenna, etc.
They've been specifically designed for pop-top roofs where a fixed cross member or rack is not viable but they had a good range of applications in other models i.e. serve as a base for your custom build as they clamp to the gutter really well not just on your imported van/bus but vehicles like the Jeep Wrangler, Jeep Gladiator, and full size Chevy, Ford, Dodge, and GMC Vans.
Don't underestimate the power of this bracket because of its size. You could use it with untapped spacers, any flat plate or L, C, J brackets on the Market to fit almost any accesories especially on vehicules where you don't want or you can't fit a cross member or a roof rack.
Check compatibility, recommendations and load limits
To ensure a perfect match you can download the bracket diagram from the other tab and check all the measurements. When it comes to our gutter mounts some things to consider:- OZ15 and OZ20 are 40mm wide so they fit between passenger/sliding door on most vehicles (if they have a gap in between)
- OZ15 is for standard awnings with backplate track separation are between 40-70mm or single backplate track awnings
- OZ19 and OZ20 are designed for awnings with longer backplate track separation between 40-130mm
- OZ19 is 80mm wide so more suitable for HiAce 100 Series, Transit and Sprinter
NOT SUITABLE FOR FREESTANDING AWNINGS
What is a freestanding awning?
- Swings out around the side/back of the vehicle (often ~180°-270° coverage)
- Uses multiple folding arms and manufacturers claim the awning can stand without legs in calm conditions
- Typical for overlanding or touring setups
NOTE TO CUSTOMER: Freestanding awnings are too heavy and your gutter or bracket might end up bending.
In fact our awning brackets are not intended for use with an awning deployed without its support arms and ground tie-down straps. In windy conditions, the awning fabric can create significant pulling force that may place load on the brackets in the opposite direction of their intended support.
Improper use may result in bending or damage to the brackets/vehicle. The user is responsible for ensuring the awning is correctly deployed and adequately secured at all times.
Designed to attach lightweight accesories to the vehicle gutter. This product suits a variety of vans, buses, truck cabins, 4WD and KEI trucks.
